🌹 Obituary for Shana Blackwell
Shana Blackwell, age 47, of Woodstock, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on October 18, 2025.
Shana was born on April 1, 1978, in Marietta, Georgia, to Rebecca Foster Bishop and Randall Blackwell. She was lovingly raised by her grandmother, Phedonia Blackwell, and her aunts, Glenna Jackson and Patricia Pitts who helped shape her into the strong, caring woman she became.
For more than 25 years, Shana dedicated her life to helping others through her work in healthcare. She spent 18 years at Canton Nursing Center and the past 7 years at Northside Cherokee Hospital, where she was known for her compassion, her steady hands, and her kind heart. Shana had a gift for caring — whether it was her patients, her coworkers, or her own family, she always made people feel seen, loved, and cared for.
Shana loved cheering on her Atlanta Falcons, traveling to new places, and cooking big family meals that brought everyone together. Her kitchen was always full of laughter, good food, and love. But more than anything, she adored her children and her grandchildren — they were the light of her life, and she never missed a chance to spend time with them.
She is survived by her loving children, Yasmin Davis (Tone) of Acworth, Georgia; Ethan Bridges of Woodstock, Georgia; and Emetri Bridges (Sara) of Ball Ground, Georgia. She also leaves behind her father, Randall Blackwell of Georgia; her brother, Emanuel Blackwell of Woodstock, Georgia and her three precious grandchildren — Avaya Bridges, Meliana Bridges, and Karter Bridges — who brought her endless joy.
Shana was preceded in death by her mother, Rebecca Foster Bishop.
A funeral service to honor Shana's life will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from the Chapel of Darby Funeral Home, with Pastor Romanzia Saunders officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the hour of service.
A time of fellowship and sharing will follow the service at 4:30 PM at the Charlie Ferguson Community Center, 1398 Reinhardt College Parkway, Canton, Georgia 30114.
Shana will be remembered for her beautiful heart, her giving spirit, and the love she poured into everyone around her. Her laughter, her cooking, and her care will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
The staff of Darby Funeral Home is honored to serve the Blackwell Family.
