Obituary for Shana D. Richardson

Shana D. Richardson, age 58, passed away on November 18, 2025. She was born on June 8, 1967, in Marietta, Georgia, to Mildred Elizabeth Wilcox and Donald L. Law. From the very beginning, Shana carried a bright and creative spirit that never dimmed.

Shana's greatest joy in life was her family—especially her six grandbabies, whom she adored beyond measure. She cherished every moment with them, always ready to laugh, hold them close, and create memories they will carry forever. One of the family's favorite stories—shared with equal parts laughter and love—was the day she got "stuck" in the delivery room with Ashley. Determined to capture the moment, Shana filmed the entire birth with what she proudly believed were perfect angles… only to discover at the end, with her signature dry humor, "Oh my God, Ashley, I never pressed record." It was classic Shana: loving, present, and wonderfully human.

A true artist at heart, Shana expressed herself through drawing, sculpting, jewelry-making, and countless crafts. Creativity wasn't just a hobby for her—it was part of who she was. Her daughters, Ashley and Stephanie, loved her silliness and her delightfully dark, dry sense of humor. She made life fun. She made ordinary days memorable.

Shana also loved shopping—sometimes buying, sometimes simply browsing—but always enjoying the adventure. When her girls were little, she took them down every single aisle of every store, turning errands into explorations. Above all, she made sure her loved ones never questioned her affection. You couldn't leave a room without hearing her say, "I love you." It was her signature—simple, true, and constant.

Deeply devoted to her family, Shana was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter. She was proud to be a school teacher, pouring kindness and patience into her students just as she did with everyone else in her life.

Shana loved her husband, Bert, and treasured the quiet moments they spent together, sitting side by side, watching television with their dogs Hank and Hazel curled nearby.

Shana is survived by her husband, Archie "Bert" Robert Richardson Jr. of Canton, GA; her daughters, Ashley Garcia (Carlos Enrique) of Canton, GA, and Stephanie Nichole Nash (Mark Alan) of Canton, GA; her six beloved grandchildren—Maciee Richardson, Noa Garcia, Lea Garcia, Cory Nash, Oliver Nash, and Liam Nash; and her mother, Mildred Law of Canton, GA. She leaves behind a family who will forever feel the warmth of her love and miss the sound of her voice reminding them what mattered most.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Darby Funeral Home, followed by a Celebration of Life at 6:00 PM in the Chapel.
