Shari Litton Wootton, 61, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025 after a courageous battle with colon cancer. In her final moments, her loving husband, Mike, was holding her hand as she entered the Kingdom of Heaven.
Born on March 1, 1964, in Columbia, South Carolina, Shari was the daughter of Roger and Carol Litton. With her father being a Chief Petty Officer in the Navy, she and her younger brother, Mike, grew up all over the country, including Hawaii, California, Alabama, and then moved back to South Carolina where she finished high school. She was excited to attend college and graduated with honors from the University of South Carolina, earning a Bachelor's degree in Business.
After school, she was introduced to the love of her life, Mike, and they married in March of 1995. Their marriage joined her heart to Kris, Nikki, and Katie, whom she loved as her own. A few years later, she was overjoyed to welcome their daughter, Ashley, to complete their beautiful family.
As best friends, Mike and Shari's marriage was marked by their love of traveling the world together. In May of this year, they fulfilled their dream of visiting Greece and Italy. Some of their other favorite trips include France, England, and Germany.
Shari's life was marked by her deep faith, generosity, and joy in serving others. She was passionate about being a blessing to her community and spent many hours volunteering with SERV International, helping pack food boxes for those experiencing food insecurity.
She was known for her thoughtful heart and fun-loving spirit. She was a savvy shopper who always loved a great deal and took special joy in finding the perfect gifts for others. Shari held many titles throughout her life—wife, mother, daughter, and more—but she thrived in her role as "Mimi," which she embraced with her whole heart.
Shari embodied the love of Christ and was a light to everyone who crossed her path. In her final days, her faith was emboldened as she witnessed to nurses and those providing her care, who all loved being in her presence. She inspired her loved ones with her deep conviction and the joy she found in Jesus.
Shari is survived by her husband of 30 years, Mike Wootton (65); her father, Roger Litton (87); and her brother, Mike Litton (58). She is also survived by her children and their spouses: Kris (44) and Jenica (43) Wootton; Nikki (40) and Matt (40) Lear; Katie (37) and John (39) Shuford; and Ashley (27) and Bryan (27) Fandrey. Shari's legacy continues through her seven beloved grandchildren: Jackson (17), Gracie (17), Lyla (12), Hudson (12), Max (5), Wesley (5), and Will (1).
Shari's celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 8th, with a drop-in visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Darby Funeral Home in Canton, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations in Shari's honor to Never Alone Food Pantry. Shari requested that everyone wear bright, happy colors to her service—her favorites were pink, green, and yellow—to reflect the warmth and joy she brought to every life she touched.
