Obituary for Thomas Henry Lentz
Thomas Henry Lentz, age 91 of Canton, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2020 at Parkside Nursing Home in Ellijay. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 11th from 6-8pm. The funeral will be on Friday, June 12th at 1:30p.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church with Father Luis Alvarez officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens.

Tom is a World War II Navy Veteran. After the Navy Tom married his high school sweetheart Joy Wentzel Lentz and they were married 59 years. He attended the University of Missouri School of Mines & Metallurgy, graduating in 1952 Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering degree. He then attended the Michigan College of Mining and Technology, graduating in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Administration degree in 1959. He was a past President of the Atlanta Chemical Sale Association. Throughout his career he started two companies, finally retiring at the age of 89 in 2018. Tom's love of his family and friends was paramount in his life. His love, kindness, generosity, intelligence and amazing sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by:
Son – Mark (Tanya) Lentz of Ohio.
Daughter –Vicki (Dave) Brewster of Ohio
Daughter – Mary Brooks (Dave Lusk) of Canton
Brother – Jim Lentz of Texas
Dear Friend – Betty McAdams of Conyers

9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren also survive.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Macular Degeneration Foundation in his memory.
