Winnie "June" Tart, 90, passed away peacefully on December 9th, 2025, at Northside Hospital Cherokee, surrounded by her family.
Born August 26th, 1935, in Rocky Springs, Mississippi, June was the daughter of Roxie Hill "Mama Rock" Moulder and William H. "Daddy Bill" Moulder and the third of six children. She grew up in a close-knit family with her siblings Faye, Betty, Mary Ann, Gwen, and Billy.
June built a life centered around love, devotion, and hard work. She raised three children - Mike Tart, Jill Leonard, and Karen Boudreaux. She was the proud grandmother of Michelle, Michael, Brandon, and Austin, and great-grandmother to Evan, Luke, Avery, Turner, Barrett, and Dawson. Her family was her greatest joy, and she remained deeply connected to every generation throughout her 90 blessed years.
She worked for Bell Telephone Company in Vicksburg and later retired after 30 years of dedicated service with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Even after retirement, she continued working as a phone operator at River Region Hospital in Vicksburg, forming lifelong friendships along the way. She was a member of Midway Church of Christ (Utica, MS) and later Vicksburg Church of Christ (Vicksburg, MS).
In 2019, June moved to Canton, Georgia to be closer to her daughters and great-grandchildren. She loved the Atlanta Braves, Elvis Presley, and hosting family gatherings where her warm hospitality made everyone feel loved.
June is preceded in death by her parents, two of her siblings, and her grandson Austin. She is now reunited with them in heaven.
A visitation will be held at Darby Funeral Home in Canton, GA, on Friday, December 12th, from 12pm–2pm, with a ceremony to follow at 2pm. She will be laid to rest at Cherokee Memorial Park in Canton, next to her grandson Austin, whom she loved dearly and is now joyfully reunited with in Heaven.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Leonard, Michael Tart, Russ Guinn, Dean Moulder, Jack Smith, and George Smith.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and family devotion that will be cherished forever.
