Caralee Ormsbee Caldwell

Beloved wife, mother and friend, Cara died at home after a short illness. She traveled
extensively with her father as a child, but settled in Georgia and married in 1993. After studying
to become a pharmacist, she elected to switch careers to have more time for a family, and she
became a real estate professional.
While her husband was deployed overseas with the U.S. Army, Cara's work with wives and
dependents at home earned her the award of Volunteer of the Year in 2003.
Cara was passionate about politics, patriotism, parties, parenting and puppies -- Labrador
Retrievers, in particular. Cooking was a way that she expressed love. Holidays and life events
were always celebrated with tables heaped with home cooking, surrounded by friends and
extended family.
Cara was preceded in death by her parents Lee William Ormsbee and Geraldine Lee Shephard. She is survived by husband, Carol Ray Caldwell, and sons Christopher Blake Caldwell and Kyle Mackenzie Caldwell; half sisters Lori Lee Ormsbee Connor, Sherri Lee Ormsbee, and Beth Calik Sarkisian; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Cara's wishes were to be cremated. There will be a celebration of life planned at a later date. In lieu of
flowers, the family has suggested donating to Labrador Friends of the South
(LabradorFriends.com) --or perhaps adopting a puppy or two.
