Dorothy Lorraine Galinat died on February 14, 2022 in Austell, Georgia where she has lived since 1985. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on October 18, 1939, Lorraine, as she preferred to be called, was actually named after her mother Dorothy Dasta. She is survived by an older brother, Frank Dasta and a younger sister, Judith Phelps from Pittsburgh. Married to Melvyn Galinat for 47 years before his death on October 31, 2013, she leaves behind 3 children: David Galinat (Ingrid), Leslie Dean (Michael), and Andrea Simmonette (Scott) and 6 grandchildren: Shelbie and Lauryn Simmonette; Lacey Dean; Allie, Bella, and Aaron Galinat. She was a devoted mother spending most of her years as a homemaker. She loved to spend time in her yard planting flowers and gardening. She enjoyed watching sports, especially football. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan as most people from Pittsburgh tend to be! She was known for baking cakes and other delicious desserts to bring for snacks after church each week. Lorraine attended the Living Church of God until she was no longer able to attend due to health reasons. She lived 82 years and died in her faith.
