Edward Stephen Good Jr CANTON, GA formerly of MANCHESTER, NJ – 71, entered his eternal rest May 22, 2022. Edward was born and raised in Perth Amboy, NJ before becoming a 41-year resident of Manchester, NJ. Edward was a 1969 graduate of Perth Amboy High School. He was an emergency responder for 2 years. Edward proudly served in the Army National Guard for 6 years and became a proud member of the American Legion. Edward began his mechanical engineering career with Bell Labs in Holmdel NJ and retired from Lucent Technology with 32 years of service. Edward was an active member of his community as he was a longtime member of the Jaycees, coached rec soccer teams, volunteered with the boy scouts (NJ & GA), and could often be found helping his neighbors and friends. Edward was a devoted parishioner of St. John’s Catholic Church, Lakehurst NJ, before moving to St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Woodstock GA. Edward enjoyed the great outdoors. When he wasn’t hiking, fishing, hunting, boating, or exploring state and national parks he could be found maintaining his yard and flowers. During his retirement he found a passion for woodworking, often making personalized gifts for friends and family. Edward’s greatest passion was spending time with his family and friends. He was known for his sense of humor, kindness, and helpfulness. Edward was predeceased by his father, Edward S. Good Sr., his mother Mary Cseve Good, his sister Michele Palush, and his daughter Denise Good. Surviving is his wife, Rosemary Good, son Edward Good III (Sandra Marrone), daughter Christina Carns (Philip), nephew Gary Palush Jr. (Cristina Grados), niece Cassandra Palush, two grandchildren Troy Kysniak and Thomas Carns, a great grandchild, and three great nephews David Joseph Palush, Austin Palush, and Mason Palush. Services will be held Monday, June 6th at 11am at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Woodstock. The family will receive friends at Darby Funeral Home Sunday, June 5th from 5-7pm. Interment will be in the Macedonia Memorial Park with Army Honors. Flowers are accepted or in lieu of flowers donations can be made to American Cancer Society or the Wounded Warrior Project.
