Albert Scott Morris, III was born in San Marcos, Texas on November 10, 1941. He was the first-born son of Albert Scott Morris, Jr. and Helen Morris (Falls). Scott graduated from Luling High School, in Luling, Texas, he then obtained his B.A. from the University of Texas and an M.B.A. from A&M University of Texas. He enlisted with the United States Navy and graduated from Annapolis Naval Academy, and he then went on to receive officer and naval aviation training in Pensacola, Florida where he graduated as a Naval Aviator. He served honorably in the Vietnam war, as a Lieutenant flying F-4B "Phantom II" tomcat missions from the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Coral Sea attached to the Fighter Squadron Twenty-One (home-based in Miramar, California) a unit of Attack Carrier Air Wing Two. He received several honorable citations, including Air Medal "for meritorious achievements in aerial flight", Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, and the Gallantry Cross. After leaving the Navy he worked for many years with Haliburton Corporation starting in support of the Texas Oil Rigs and ending in their IT and computer division. He then went on to specialize in IT and computer coding with various companies including Wal-Mart.
Surviving him are his loving family including his daughter, Robin Power Kynaston, her mother Victoria Elizabeth Morris, as well as his son-in-law Robert Kynaston and Scott's two granddaughters Hannah Grace Kynaston and Haley Davenport Kynaston; his brother Thomas Elliot Morris and sister-in-law Marilyn Morris and their children, Scott's niece and nephew: Clifford Morris and his wife Raquel Morris and their children Katy Morris and Jenna Morris; and Nicole Menefee and her husband Paul Menefee and their children Madeline Menefee, Sarah Menefee and Evan Menefee. Steve Morris was Scott's youngest brother who passed before him and was survived by his ex-wife Elia Morris and their daughter Bettina Morris and her two sons.
A military service will be held on Tuesday, February 28th, 2023, 10am at the Georgia National Cemetery at 2025 Mount Carmel Church Lane in Canton, Georgia with Chaplin Amanda Flaks officiating. There will also be a Celebration of Life provided at the Marlow United Methodist Church at 421 W. Main Street, Marlow, Oklahoma, at noon on April 1, 2023.
