Andrienna "Ann" Evangeline (Hartley) Dumas, 84, of Canton, Georgia departed this earth to be with her Lord and Savior early on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 following an extended illness. She was born in Augusta, GA on August 29, 1927 and moved to Palatka, Florida in 1958 where she made her home for 48 years before relocating to Canton for the past 6 years.
Though Ann worked as a bookkeeper and accountant early in her life, she prided herself on being a homemaker – providing for others, caring for their needs and never letting anyone leave her home hungry. She devoted much of her spare time to studying God's word but enjoyed painting and arranging flowers as well as being a voracious reader of all types of literature and keeping up with current world events.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse B. "Jake" Dumas; a son, Anthony D. "Tony" Dumas and two daughters, Lisa Marie Dumas and Gloria Ann Dumas.
Those left to cherish her memory are: three sons and daughters-in-law; Steve and Brooks Dumas of Cumming, GA , Mike and Deanna Dumas of Gainesville, FL, and Joe and Cheryl Dumas of Canton, GA; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in Oak Hill East Cemetery located on Crill Avenue in Palatka, FL, with Joe Dumas officiating.
