Annette Tomlin Stancil, 92, of Canton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at The Retreat at Jasper.

Born on February 3, 1932, in Monroe, Georgia, Annette was the daughter of Martin Tomlin and Fedric Breedlove. She lived a rich and fulfilling life, marked by her kindness, resilience, and dedication to her family and community. Known for her warm smile, generous spirit, and unwavering support of those she loved, Annette made a lasting impact on everyone she encountered.

She had a distinguished career as an investigator for the United States Department of Labor, where she was committed to ensuring fairness and justice in the workplace. Her dedication to her work and the people she served was a testament to her character.

Annette is survived by her husband, Max Stancil of Canton, Georgia; sons, Alex Johnson of Canton, Georgia and Bill Johnson of Ellijay, Georgia; daughter, Julie Wilson of Canton, Georgia; and four grandchildren, who will carry on her legacy of love and compassion.

Visitation will be held at Darby Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia, on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 2:00 PM, officiated by Rev. Jody Stancil. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shiloh Methodist Cemetery Association, located at 253 Shiloh Church Road, Dawsonville, Georgia 30534.

Annette will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her.
