Annie Laura Whitmore Stancil of Canton, Georgia, born on May 30, 1936, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2021. She joined the Indian Knoll Baptist Church by experience of Grace on July 23, 1949. The memorial service will be at Indian Knoll Baptist Church on February 16, 2021 at 2PM
Ann spent many years working as a Teacher's Aid at Holly Springs Elementary. She watched not only her own children grow but many other children as well. She also enjoyed the family vacations to Daytona Beach where her favorite pastime was to bet the 3-4 on the dogs. She was very well read and had an extensive vocabulary which she enjoyed sharing with her kids and grand kids. Mainly to make them look up words they didn't know.
She was the proud mother to Linda Diane Stancil-Redner and Larry James Stancil. She always supported them in the best way she could. As grown children, both Linda and Larry laugh at the thought of Mom calling them by their first and middle name whenever they were in trouble.
She married Charlie James Stancil, falling for his blue eyes and his funny personality. They were deeply in love until they weren't but are surly enjoying each other's company in Heaven.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Ann leaves behind two children Linda Stancil-Redner of Dahlonega,GA and Larry Stancil of Scottsdale AZ. Four grandchildren, Candice Stancil, Ryan Stancil, Chase Redner, Matthew Stancil and two Great grandchildren, Adalynn and Emmeline.
