Barbara Hendrix Burgess, 84, of Canton, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, January 18, 2026.

Mrs. Burgess was born on April 4, 1941, in Ball Ground, Georgia, to the late Guy and Johnnie Hendrix. She was preceded in death by husband, Rev. Loyed C. Burgess and by her father & mother, Guy and Johnnie Hendrix.

She is survived by her son, David (Tara) Burgess; daughters, Kathy (Phillip) Black, Susan Gravitt, and Lorie Burgess; sister, Judy (Billy) Coltrane; 10 grandchildren, Cody (Sarah) Black, Clint (Haley) Black, Emily (Taylor) Ingram, Lindsay (Steven) Hudgins, Clay (Destiny) Black, Ashlyn (Cody) Childers, Kayla (Gannon) Burke, Sarah (Max) Warfel, Alivia (Dawson) Mooney, and Cole Black; and 17 great-grandchildren, Tate Ingram, Ruth Black, Ava Grace Childers, Grayson Hudgins, MaNoah Black, Keight Black, Caroline Ingram, Lane Childers, Case Childers, Grady Black, Calvin Black, Allie Black, Abilene Mooney, Ivy Black, April Black, Jonah Warfel, and Ruby Sue Black.

Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, January 19, 2026, until the funeral, which will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Old Damascus Baptist Church, with Rev. Larry White, Rev. Dean Ghorley, and Rev. Edwin Bishop officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery.
