Barbara Jean Zdrojewski, 83, of Roswell, Georgia, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025.
Barbara was the beloved wife of Michael J. Zdrojewski for 60 years, and together they built a loving life and family. As an Army wife, Barbara embraced the challenges and joys of military life, often lifting the spirits of other spouses and creating a sense of community wherever they were stationed. When times were tight, she organized neighborhood potluck meals to ensure no one went without.
A creative spirit, Barbara was especially known for her skill with a sewing machine. Each Halloween she delighted in crafting imaginative costumes for her children, many of which took first prize in local contests.
Barbara dedicated more than a decade of her life to teaching middle school social studies in Georgia and another decade teaching students in Buffalo New York. She had a gift for making lessons come alive—whether by sharing her collection of Madame Alexander dolls from around the world or preparing traditional dishes from the cultures her students were studying. Her teaching left a lasting mark on countless young lives.
Above all, Barbara's greatest joy was her family. She never missed a celebration, competition, or milestone, always reminding those around her that the most important part of any home is the people within it.
She is survived by her three daughters, Cathleen D. Zdrojewski, Michelle Perona, and Kimberly Rodeoro, as well as five cherished grandchildren.
Barbara's warmth, generosity, and devotion to her loved ones will be remembered always.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday October 4th at 10:00am at Darby funeral home.
