Betty Ruth Cook, 87 of Jasper, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 9th from 10am to 9pm at Darby Funeral Home. The funeral will be Wednesday, May 10th at 11am in the chapel of Darby Funeral Home with Rev. Nathan Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kirby Cook, her parents, Jack and Mae Ghorley, and her brothers, Billy Ghorley and Kenny Ghorley. She is survived by:
Brother - Bobby (Charlotte) Ghorley of Canton
Brother - Eddie (Jan) Ghorley of Matt
Sister - Pat Dickerson of Jasper
Brother-in-law - Weymon Cook of Canton
Sister-in-law - Myrtle Samples of Woodstock
Sister-in-law - Delores Ghorley of Canton
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
