Bruce Edward Saxon, age 81, of Chesterfield, VA., passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital in Virginia.
Bruce is the son of his late parents, Ralph and Ruby Saxon, who raised him in Elberton, GA. He was also preceded in death by his son, Michael Saxon, and his brother, Zane Saxon.
Bruce joined the United States Army on April 14, 1964. Upon his retirement, he was presented with a plaque which reads, "Bruce Saxon. Truly a faithful impeccable Soldier, Leader, Technician, and Civilian. Thank you for your commitment to excellence as well as your commitment to 48 years of selfless service to the United States of America. 14 APR 1964 – 31 DEC 2011."

Grandchildren – Ashley (Greg) Edmonds, Josh (Ali) Clevenger, Alex (Samantha) Carreon, Leanne Blaber, Corey Blaber, Crystal (Seth) Hunt, Chris (Angie) Brown, Jr., Coty (Kristin) Brown, Randy (Melissa) Brown, Jr., Thomas (Amanda) Brown, Stacie Brown, Jimmy Brown III, Catherine Rhodes, Kristine Saxon, Dakota Saxon, and April Saxon.
He is also survived by 26 great-grandchildren and counting.
The family will receive friends at Darby Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 25th from 11am to 1pm. A graveside service will follow at 2:30pm at Georgia National Cemetery.
Bruce will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
