Burton Dennis “Denny” Rigdon, age 84, of Woodstock, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, April 24, 2026.
Born on May 8, 1941, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Burton was the son of the late Francis and Lydia Rigdon. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Air Force, a commitment that reflected his deep sense of duty and patriotism.
Following his military service, Burton built a successful career as an engineer in the telecommunications industry. He dedicated many years of service to Western Electric, AT&T, and Northern Telecom before retiring. Known for his intelligence, steady work ethic, and thoughtful nature, he earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike.
Burton was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gail Rigdon. Their bond remained strong throughout their lives, and they will be laid to rest together at Georgia National Cemetery.
He is survived by his dear friend, Robert “Bob” Irvine, and Bob’s wife, Joan, who shared in his life with companionship and care, along with many friends.
In appreciation for his service to our country, a graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. at Georgia National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are kindly asked to arrive at the cemetery no later than 12:00 p.m.
Burton will be remembered for his quiet strength, dedication, and the lasting impact he made on those who knew him.
