Charles E. Brown, 87 of Jasper, GA., passed away Monday, November 20, 2023, at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital. Visitation will be Friday, November 24th from 3-8pm at Darby Funeral Home and Saturday, November 25th from 10-11am at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The funeral will be Saturday, November 25th at 11am at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Sean Heggood & Rev. Doug Mulkey officiating. Interment will follow in the Cherokee Memorial Park. He is survived by:

Son - Larry (Shannon) Brown of Ellijay, GA.
Son - Sean (Cindy) Heggood of Columbus, GA.
Son - Greg (Nikki) Brown of Sandy Springs, GA.
Daughter - Lesly (Tim) Fant of Acworth, GA.
Daughter - Shana (Charlie) McPhail of Canton, GA.
Brother - Wayne (Sara) Brown of Canton, GA.
Brother - Ronald (Dorothy) Brown of Rincon, GA.
9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Brown was a devoted and loving husband of 43 years, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He served in the U.S. Airforce and served full-time in the Georgia National Guard for a total of 41 years, retiring at the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He loved God, his family, and his country. Mr. Brown served as an ordained deacon of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Church Treasurer, and many committees of the church. He served the underserved of Georgia through the Baptist Mobile Health Ministry for 20 years. Mr. Brown loved to fish, hunt, play golf, and support his children and grandchildren through their sports and band activities.
