Charles Jefferson Dement, Sr, age 98 of Canton, passed away Thursday February 27, 2014 at the Canton Nursing Center, Canton, GA. Funeral Services are scheduled for 9:00AM Friday February 28, 2014 at The Darby Funeral home Chapel with Interment to follow at Macedonia Memorial Park. Chaplain Jonathan Spencer will officiate. He is survived by his wife of 79 years; Delpha Leora Dement, Canton, GA, Sons; Bobby G. Dement Sr., MI, Charles J. Dement, Jr, Jasper, GA, Daniel L. Dement, Sr, Canton, GA, Sisters; Virginia Shelby, FL, Maxine Lowing, MI, 6 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his sister, Isabelle Williams.
