Obituary

Chase Winston Redner, a Trooper with the Georgia State Patrol, succumbed to injuries sustained while in the line of duty on February 20, 2024 at the age of 31.

Chase is survived by his mother, Linda Stancil-Redner of Dahlonega, GA, his Fiancé, Leah Owens, of Cumming, GA, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Lee Redner, his maternal grandparents, Charlie James Stancil and Ann Whitmore Stancil, and his paternal grandparents, Willis Redner and Betty Redner.

Chase was born on January 5, 1993, to Linda Stancil-Redner and Richard Redner. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Gainesville. Chase had a servant's heart which led him to graduate from University of North Georgia in 2017 with a degree in Criminal Justice. He then went on to graduate from the 103rd Trooper School with the Georgia State Patrol. Chase loved serving his state and country through his role as a State Trooper and took every opportunity to continue giving to this profession including training other State Troopers in the field, becoming a certified instructor, and finally taking a position with the Specialized Crash Reconstruction Team.

Chase was a devoted son, friend, and patriot who lived life to the fullest. He loved soccer and spent many weekends cheering on the Atlanta United Team. He thrived in nature and enjoyed hiking and backpacking with his friends, of which on his last hike, he picked the perfect spot to propose to his long-time girlfriend, now Fiancé. He had a true love for all animals, especially his childhood cat, Precious, and his adult cats, Winston and Churchill. He was a natural host who opened his doors to friends of any walk of life on many occasions and lived to share as much of life as possible with those closest to him.

He will be deeply missed by his many friends, relatives, law enforcement family, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
