Mrs. Cleora Roberts Sechrest, age 99 of Lexington, NC , Cherry Grove Beach, SC and Rocky Mount, NC died Wednesday March 25, 2009 in Canton, GA . She was born November 28, 1909 in Lancaster South Carolina the youngest of the nine children of Samuel B. And Ellen Montgomery Roberts and was preceded in death by brothers, Lewis and Herman , Sisters Cora , Vertie , Mary, Norma , Lillian and Nettie .

Mrs. Sechrest was married March 11, 1933 to Ray F. Sechrest who died November 26, 1964.

They had two children , Nancy S. (Mrs. Thomas L.) Young of North Myrtle Beach SC , and Raye S. Snell of Canton, GA . Both of whom survive. Mrs. Sechrest is also survived by six grandchildren and their spouses , George F. & Dena G. Young of Rock Mount, NC , Elizabeth Y. Blackmon of Jacksonville, FL , David E and Sonya D. Young of Wrightsville Beach NC, Lee M. And Susan W. Young of Charolette, NC . DJ Snell of Winter Park Fl. And Anbdrea S. and Jason Moyer of Frisco, TX ; twleve great grandchildren , one great great grandchild and nieces and nephews. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lancaster, SC and Winthrop College, taught for 27 years in the public schools of South Carolina , and following retirement operated private kindergarten schools in in Lexington, NC and Cherry Grove Beach , SC .

She was amember and an officer of the garden clubs of Lexington, NC and Ocean Drive, SC was active in the American Legion Auxiliary, and traveled extensively in later life.

Funeral services will be conducted at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington, NC on Saturday March 28, 2009 to be followed by interment in Lexington City Cemetery . The family request flowers be omitted.
