Obituary

Constance "Connie" Madalyn Price, age 86, of Canton, Georgia, peacefully passed away on Friday, September 11, 2026, at her residence surrounded by family.

Connie was born on July 22, 1940, in Charleston, West Virginia, to the late Okie and Valerie Goff. Throughout her life, her Christian faith remained important to her. She was a devoted believer in the Lord and found meaning and comfort in her faith, her church, and the hope found in Christ.

Connie spent many years as a homemaker and took seriously the responsibility of caring for her family. While raising her children, she worked hard to keep a well-run home and made sure her family was provided for each day. She was an excellent cook, preparing three meals a day and often using vegetables grown in the family garden. Her children grew up in a home where hard work, responsibility, and providing for the family were a regular part of daily life. Just as importantly, Connie made sure her children were raised to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, giving them a foundation of faith that would remain with them throughout their lives.

Connie also valued the friendships she formed throughout her life, and many of those friendships endured for years. She enjoyed flowers and gardening, needlepoint, shopping, and music. Singing was especially meaningful to her, and she shared her love of music as a member of her church choir.

Connie is survived by her husband, Warren Price of Canton, Georgia; her children and children-in-law, Brett (Lynn) Price of St. Augustine, Florida, Greg (Maggie) Price of Newnan, Georgia, Darren (Robyn) Price of Canton, Georgia, and Susan Mahaffey of Kiln, Mississippi; grandchildren, Matthew Price, Sarah Price, Katie Mahaffey, Jessica Herring, Christopher Mahaffey, Daniel Mahaffey, Rebecca Wonnacott, and Brandy Price; and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services honoring Connie's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, in the Chapel of Darby Funeral Home, with Pastor Clark Herring officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Georgia National Cemetery, where Connie will be laid to rest.

As those who knew Connie reflect on her life, they can find comfort in the faith she professed and in the promise of Scripture. For those who place their trust in Christ, death is not the end, but the beginning of eternal life in His presence. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now beyond the pain, struggles, and cares of this life and rests in the presence of the Lord she believed in and served.

The caring staff of Darby Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Ms. Constance "Connie"  Madalyn Price.
