He is survived by his wife; Evelyn Aiken, Ft. Pierce, FL, daughters; Sharrall (Jim) Aiken- Phillips, Lawrenceville, GA, Terri (Brooke) Warren, Canton, GA, Missy Whitley, Woodstock, GA, Pamela Whitley, Knoxville, TN son; John (Jackie) Whitley, Alpharetta, GA, 17 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He truly lived his life to the fullest! He is preceded in death by his son; Curtis Donald "Donnie" Aiken, Jr. The caring staff of Darby Funeral Home is in charge of these arrangements.
Curtis D. Aiken would be the first to tell you he had to leave school in the 9th grade to take care of his mother, Ida Beatrice Waldrop. Beginning at age five, he had many jobs in his career. If one job didn't give him what he needed through in life, he added another or found better ones. He finally landed in the service department of Dictaphone Corporation. He persisted in excellence, working his way from serviceman to Vice President of Sales for Dictaphone Corporation. He also taught the meaning of success at colleges urging people to rise above circumstance and hard times. He was able to retire comfortably and happily. He continued to work after retirement in a new adventure, creating a home building company in Atlanta with the love of his life, Evelyn (Evie). Curtis promoted that life is too short to not live your life to the fullest and accomplish your dreams. Curtis's family will miss his cheery laugh, his fun attitude, and dedication to his family. We know he is celebrating life where he is now and insists we do the same.
