David Russell Bowling, age 75, of Canton, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Northside Hospital Cherokee.

David was born in Greensburg, Indiana, on August 19, 1950, to the late Calvin Russell Bowling and Phyllis Jean Bowling. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and later built a successful career as an electrician. David was a dedicated and proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his sisters, Linda Lucille Langford and Gloria Jean Helton.

A joyful carefree spirit, David will be remembered for his strength, service, and commitment to those he loved. David was rarely without music, enjoying everything from old classics to new discoveries. A classic car enthusiast, he could often be found at local shows, under the hood of his ’65 Catalina, or sharing stories about the many cars he’d owned. His happy place was with people, music on, tools in hand, and a project before him.

David’s greatest pride was his family, whom he supported with a quiet strength. He loved fixing things, embracing every challenge and always eager to learn. He leaves behind his son, Patrick Russell Bowling; daughter, Jessica Jean Elizabeth Bowling; grandchild, Jesse Asche; and sisters, Nancy Jean Binkley and Dinah Kay Hoge, who will carry forward his love of music, old cars, and his knack for turning everyday moments into cherished memories. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his generous spirit, charm, and the warmth he brought to every room he entered.

A graveside service with Army honors will be held at Georgia National Cemetery on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. The funeral procession will leave the funeral home promptly at 8:30 a.m. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to arrive at the funeral home no later than 8:15 a.m.
