Obituary for David Ray Weidman
With hearts full of love and deep gratitude, we announce the passing of David Ray Weidman, who went home to be with the Lord on February 5, 2026. David was the kindest, sweetest, most loving, faithful, and generous man there ever was, and his life was a true reflection of God's grace and goodness.
To know David was to know warmth, humility, and unwavering kindness. He had a gentle spirit and a heart that put others first in all things. He loved deeply, gave freely, and served quietly, never seeking recognition or praise. His generosity extended far beyond material things—he gave his time, his encouragement, his wisdom, and his love without hesitation.
David's faith was the cornerstone of his life. He walked closely with the Lord and lived his faith daily through compassion, patience, forgiveness, and steadfast trust in God. His life was a testimony, not just in words, but in actions. Those who knew him saw Christ's love through the way he treated others and the way he loved his family.
David was a devoted and loving husband to his wife, Cher Weidman, and a proud and devoted father to his children, Heather Knight, Autumn Ritter, and his beloved late son, Sean Weidman, whom he carried in his heart every day. His greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren, Makhenna Knight, Cooper Ritter, and Adalyn Ritter, whom he adored beyond measure. He was a constant source of love, guidance, and encouragement, and his presence made everyone feel safe, valued, and deeply loved.
He is also lovingly remembered by his brothers, Mike Weidman and Doug Weidman, and his sisters, Gail Weidman and Karen Weidman, along with many extended family members and friends whose lives were forever touched by his kindness and faith.
Though our hearts are broken by his absence, we do not grieve without hope. We take comfort in knowing that David is now healed, restored, and reunited with his son Sean in the presence of his Savior. We cling to the promise of Scripture:
"Well done, good and faithful servant." – Matthew 25:21
David's legacy of love, faith, generosity, and quiet strength will live on through his family and all those who were blessed to know him. He will be deeply missed, endlessly loved, and never forgotten.
