Doris P. Ward's Obituary
Doris Patterson Ward, 91, of Canton, Georgia passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 3, 2012.
She was born September 6, 1920 to Marcus and Irene Patterson of Sanford, Florida, and lived most of her life in Venice, Florida. She was an avid golfer who loved to tell about her "hole-in-one". She was trained as a Licensed Practical Nurse,a profession of which she was extremely proud. She enjoyed her most recent years "at home" in an assisted living in Canton, Georgia,and previously lived in Tallahassee, Florida. Her three educated children and their families were most precious to her.
She is survived by her son, Raymond L. Hines II of Gainesville, Florida; her daughter, Carole Ward Long (and husband Jeff) of Ellijay, Georgia; her son, Dr. Marcus E. Ward of Foley, Alabama, and her fourgrandchildren and five great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
