Edna Leona Dion, age 74, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2026, at 10:22 PM, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on November 26, 1951, in Chelsea, Massachusetts, Edna grew up in Chelsea and graduated from Chelsea High School. She lived a life defined by strength, compassion, and devotion to her family. Throughout her years, she worked as a waitress, bartender, accounts receivable clerk, and caregiver roles that reflected her strong work ethic, resilience, and natural ability to care for others.
Edna was the beloved daughter of the late Anna and Roman Lipinski. She was the loving sister of Eddie Lipinski, Roman Lipinski Jr., and Carol Milano. She was previously married to the late Michael Nuzzo and formerly to Paul Dion.
She was the devoted mother of Marco Nuzzo and the cherished grandmother of Anna Maria Nuzzo who brought her immeasurable joy. She held a very special place in her heart for her beloved daughter‑in‑law, Marcilene Nuzzo, whom she loved deeply.
Her greatest happiness came from her family. In her later years, she lived in Canton, Georgia, with her son Marco, daughter‑in‑law Marcilene, and granddaughter Anna Maria. Edna played a central and loving role in their home, helping to raise her granddaughter and supporting Marcilene through her health challenges. Her love was unwavering.
Edna enjoyed spending time in Deerfield Beach, Florida with her friends and traveling north to visit her family and longtime high school friends in Massachusetts, Maine, and New Hampshire. She loved going on cruises with her family, vacationing at the Barcelo Resort in Cancun, and enjoying dinners out with her close circle and always happy to savor a glass of wine and good company. She cherished laughter, warmth, and making memories with the people she loved.
She will be remembered for her kindness, her humor, her strength, and the way she made every place fee like home.
May her soul, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 19th from 5-8pm at Darby Funeral Home. The service will be Friday, February 20th at 11:30am in the chapel of Darby Funeral Home with Father Mark Starr officiating.
