Elaine Cass Freeman, age 68, of Hickory Flat in Cherokee County, passed away suddenly, unexpectedly, but peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, March 11, 2018.
Elaine was born on July 25, 1949 in Atlanta, Georgia and grew up in Decatur, Georgia. She graduated from Druid Hills High School in 1967 and Dekalb College in 1970. As a child, when her father was in the Army, she lived in Yokohama, Japan.
Elaine was a loving, caring, and devoted wife and mother. One of her greatest joys in her recent life was the time she spent with her grandson, Preston.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas C. and Betty Jane Ramsaur Cass.
Elaine is survived by her husband of 46 years, Jim, her daughters, Kimberly (Preston) Salinari and Cassie Freeman, her grandson, Preston Salinari, and sisters, Bettye Jan (Roy) Hobbs, Merrilyn (Dee) McClure, and Laurie Cass.
The family will receive friends at Darby Funeral Home on Saturday, March 17th from 1:00p.m. to 2:00p.m. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 17th at 2:00p.m. from the chapel of Darby Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Davis officiating.
