Eleanor Louise Brown

Eleanor Louise Brown, 67, passed away peacefully at her residence on March 20, 2025. She was born on September 18, 1957, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Louise and Louis Gable at Crawford Long Hospital.
Eleanor's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was saved by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at Macon Drive Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA. She carried that faith with her, touching the lives of many through her kindness, creativity, and service to others.
A devoted educator, Eleanor worked as a Special Needs Paraprofessional in the Cherokee County School System, dedicating her time and heart to children with special needs. She was also a skilled Massage Therapist, using her talents to bring comfort and healing to many. Her artistic spirit shone through her vibrant and colorful abstract paintings, a reflection of the joy and beauty she found in life.
Eleanor is survived by her loving husband, Richard Brown of Woodstock, GA; her daughters Lindsay Gayle Carrington (Dominique) of Atlanta, GA, and Lauren Ashley Slaughter-Cisson (Lamar) of Woodstock, GA; her stepdaughter Darby Jean Hanevich (Alex) of Bryn Mawr, PA; and her stepson Zachary Scott Brown of Holly Springs, GA. She also leaves behind her sister Marion Holloway of Lawrenceville, GA, and seven cherished grandchildren: Mason Andrew Slaughter, Lily Anne Slaughter, Ryan Brown, Rhett Brown, Rowen Brown, Reese Brown and Skyy Hanevich.
She is preceded in death by her parents Louis and Louise Gable, brother, Harry Gable, and her sister, Harriet Gable Byrd.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, May 3, 2025, in the Chapel of Darby Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM until the service hour.
Eleanor's life was a testament to love, faith and creativity. Eleanor never met a stranger. She had so many dear friends that she cherished and cherished her. She brought humor and laughter, joy and light everywhere she went. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
