Obituary

Esther Vivian Argo Spinks peacefully passed away on May 11th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 29th, 1931, in Hawkinsville, Georgia, to the late Russell Mayfield Argo and Gladys Artelia Piper Argo.

Esther spent her formative years in Thomaston, Georgia, alongside her siblings Roy, Ronnie, Clara, Stan, and Bobbie. Her childhood was filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories that she carried with her throughout her life.

In her journey through life, Esther was blessed with a loving marriage to her late husband, Ben, and together they raised a beautiful family. Throughout Ben's career in the Navy, they lived in many places, including Formosa, California, South Carolina, Florida, Washington, and Virginia, before retiring in Warner Robins, where they were active members of the Warner Robins United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Roy, Ron, Stan, and Clara, husband, Ben, and their daughter, Cindy.

Esther's legacy of love, strength, and compassion lives on through her surviving family members: her sister, Bobbie Parker; daughter, Theresa, and son-in-law, Dave Benson; son, Tim Spinks, and daughter-in-law, Trisha; grandchildren, Tim Bridges, Melody Parks, Christina, and Ethan Spinks, Anna Benson Everett, and Chris Benson; and great-grandchildren, Rowyn Cooley, and Porter Bridges.

Esther's unwavering faith and passion for music were evident in every aspect of her life. She found great joy and inspiration in the music ministry of Hickory Flat United Methodist Church in Canton, Georgia. To honor Esther's memory, the family kindly requests donations be made to the music ministry of Hickory Flat United Methodist Church, a cause that brought her immense happiness.

A service celebrating Esther's remarkable life will be held at Hickory Flat United Methodist Church on Tuesday afternoon, May 14th, at 2:00 PM, followed by a reception where family and friends can share cherished memories and stories of Esther's life.
