Obituary

George Brian Adams, Sr., age 85, of Waleska, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Northside Hospital Cherokee.

Mr. Adams was born on March 11, 1941, in Burnet, Texas, to the late George Washington Adams and Mary Azalea Adams. A proud veteran, he served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. During his service, George married the love of his life, Janis Adams, in 1963. Together they built a life rooted in love, dedication, and family.

Following George's service in the United States Air Force, George and Janis made their home in Albany, Georgia, where they raised their three children and created countless cherished memories. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose quiet strength, kindness, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janis Adams, who passed away on October 29, 2021, after 58 wonderful years of marriage.

Mr. Adams is survived by his children, George Brian Adams, Jr. (Adrian) of Athens, Georgia, Lance Alan Adams (Robyn) of Ball Ground, Georgia, and Apryle Budreski (Anthony) of Waleska, Georgia; his grandchildren, Amber Ferguson, Christian Queen (Logan), Mikaela Wilson (Emmett), Andrea Rider (Alan), Melissa Mathis, Jake Adams (Lindsey), Baylei Budreski, and Madeline Budreski; as well as eleven great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.

The family will receive friends for visitation at Darby Funeral Home on Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A committal service with military honors will be held at Georgia National Cemetery on Friday, April 3, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., where Mr. Adams will be laid to rest. For those wishing to attend, the procession will depart from the funeral home at 9:30 a.m.

George Brian Adams, Sr. will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his service to his country, and the legacy of strength and compassion he leaves behind.
