George Richard Barrie, age 78, of Canton, GA, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. He was born on November 7, 1946, in Pontiac, Michigan, to Helen Katherine Burg Barrie and George Barrie.
A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, George will be laid to rest with military honors at Georgia National Cemetery on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 12:30 PM.
He is survived by his loving wife, Catherine Barrie, of Canton, GA; his children, Todd Barrie (Vicki) of St. Albans, WV, Eric Barrie (Katie) of Marietta, GA, and Nichole Burke (William) of Canton, GA; his brother, Brian Barrie (Kay) of Ft. Smith, AR; and his sister, Katherine Wyatt of Jackson, MI.
George was a devoted grandfather to Gannon Burke (Kayla), Trevor Barrie, Gillian Burke (Dawson Williams), MacKenzie Hensley (Zach), and Jackson Barrie, and a cherished great-grandfather to Tate Williams and Audrey Williams.
He will be remembered for his love of family, his dedication to service, and the legacy of kindness and strength he leaves behind.
