George B. Williams Sr.
Age 84, of Canton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, at 9:35 AM.
Born on September 27, 1940, in Washington, D.C., George was the son of the late John Franklin Williams Sr. and Anne (Walsh) Marie Williams.
George graduated from Edmonds High School in Sumter, South Carolina, before continuing his education at the University of South Carolina, where he earned a degree in Business Administration. Following his graduation, George completed basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and proudly served in the Army National Guard.
He worked in the textile industry, primarily in sales, where he made lasting connections and enjoyed a successful career.
George is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Linda Williams; his daughter, Mary (Tobias) Smith; his son, George (Jill) B. Williams Jr.; and his four grandchildren, Connor, Blake, Josh, and Jessica Smith.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family will receive friends at Darby Funeral Home on Saturday, April 12th from 11am-12pm. A Celebration of Life will follow at 12pm in the chapel of Darby Funeral Home.
