Gerald Hiett Nelson, 76, died August 17, 2012. A visitation was held on Saturday and he will be buried in Acworth, Georgia on Sunday.
He was born in Paducah, Kentucky on September 17, 1935 to Charles and Hilda Nelson.
Gerald graduate from Murray State University with degrees in Music and Business. In his lifetime, he was a radio personality, a singer, a songwriter, a music producer, and an arranger working with Elvis Presley, Brenda Lee, Charley Pride, Jimmy Dean, and many more. Gerald also worked at Champion Music as a part of Decca Records, Genesco, and was self-employed. He was also an avid golfer.
Gerald is survived by his wife Antonia, his sister Barbara Hancock, his son Michael Nelson and his 3 children, and his daughter Valencia Ray and her 4 children.
