Obituary

Mr. Glenn Parker Carver, 78
Glenn Parker Carver of Canton, GA passed away Sunday, September 1, 2019, at Northside Cherokee Hospital in Canton, GA.
Glenn Carver was born on June 16, 1941, in Douglas, Georgia to the late Leroy Carver and Etta Mae Mobley Carver of Tifton, GA.
Survivors include: son, Glenn and his wife, Lisa Crescenzi Carver of Watertown, NY and their son, Grant Carver; daughter, Carol and her husband Bill Kirkland of Irmo, SC, their son, Jackson Kirkland and daughter, Ella Grace Kirkland.
In 1965, Glenn received a BBA in Industrial Management at Georgia Tech. After graduation, he led a five-state region in the southeast for Sears as Director of Human Resources. He went on to run two trucking companies in the Baltimore-Washington region that served clients nationwide. In 1980, Glenn moved his family to Beaufort, SC where he purchased Carver Brothers Lumber Company from two brothers named Carver. Ironically, there was no relation. His vision was to build an organization like Home Depot before Home Depot became a household name.
Carver Brothers led Glenn into the real estate development industry in the 80's where he found his true passion. He was a mid-market, commercial real estate developer specializing in office parks around the southeastern United States. In the 90's and 2000's he found great success in financial services and real estate appraisal industries.
Glenn was an avid golfer who would gladly share with you that he attended The Masters at Augusta National for thirty consecutive years. In 2007, he hit a hole-in-one on the 7th hole at Queens Harbor in Jacksonville, FL. He was also a passionate aviator which allowed him to travel to his real estate projects in an efficient manner. In 1985, Glenn and his son flew his private plane from Hilton Head to Mont Tremblant, Canada to attend the Jim Russell Race Driving school.
Later in life, he reinvented himself and went back to college at Jacksonville University and received his degree in Culinary Management. In the end, Glenn's primary passion revolved around his family and his dreams for the future.
