G.Z. Fowler, 71 of Canton, GA passed away Wednesday May 4, 2011 at Northside Hospital Cherokee.  Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday May 6, from the Darby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Southerland officiating.  Interment will follow in Cherokee Memorial Park.  The Fowler family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-9 PM.  Survivors include, Wife, Pat Fowler, Canton, GA; Daughter & Son-in-law, Lisa & Kenny Phelps, Canton, GA; Brothers, Jimmie Fowler, McDonough, GA; Larry Fowler, Adairsville, GA; Richard Fowler, Resaca, GA; Sister, Bobby Harris, Calhoun, GA; 2 Grandchildren, Tyler Zane Phelps, Kennesaw, GA; Trisha Lauren Phelps, Kennesaw, GA.  Mr. Fowler retired from the Georgia State Patrol after 34 years, and was a member of the Church of Christ.  The family request that in lieu of flowers that donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.  The caring staff of Darby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
