Harvey Jennings, Jr., age 83 of Canton, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Season's Hospice. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 23rd at 1pm in the chapel of Darby Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park.
Harvey R. Jennings Jr. was born on November 2, 1936 in Chambers County, Alabama to the union of Harvey R Jennings Sr. and Ruth Pitts. He was the third of eight children.

At a young age, his family moved to Canton, Georgia where he joined Zion Baptist Church. He married Mavis Louvenia Bledsoe on October 17, 1964 and to this union one daughter, Louvenia Brevard was born. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He served as a medic in United States Army until his Honorable Discharge. Upon his discharge from the Army he briefly worked at R.T. Jones Memorial Hospital. He continued his career and retired with 28 years of service from General Motors Corporation.

He loved fishing and spending time with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews . Everyone loved Uncle Harvey who taught them valuable life long lessons.

He gained his wings Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at Seasons Hospice in Cumming, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jimmie C. Jackson; brother, Bertrane R. Jennings; brother, Nathaniel J. Jennings.

His memory will forever be cherished by his wife of over 55 years, Mavis; daughter Louvenia Brevard; sisters, Virginia Durham (Canton, GA)and Lois Elaine Bevel (Bedford, Ohio); brothers, Albert Lee Jennings (Phyllis)(Woodstock, GA) and Johnny R Jennings; 2 grandsons, Nicholas Brevard & Kobe Brevard both of Woodstock, GA; and a host of nieces and nephews.
