HUFFMAN, Hill Robert III
Hill was born and raised in Atlanta and spent his adult life in Birmingham, AL. He recently lived in Canton, Georgia, and passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2015. He was 76 years old. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Edna Brown Huffman also from Atlanta, his father, Hill Robert Huffman, Jr., his mother, Suzanne Howell Huffman as well as his sister, Suzanne Huffman Sain. Mr. Huffman is survived by his brother, Evan Howell 'Hooky' Huffman and wife Anne of Canton, and Georgia Huffman Aderhold and husband Steven of Suwanee and cousin, Archibald Howell and wife Susan of Lookout Mountain, TN. He is also survived by nieces and nephews Susan and Patrick Plunkett of Roswell, Robert Sain of Bozeman, Montana, Charles Sain of Austin, Texas, Janelle and Will Huffman of Dallas, Texas, Abbe and Bart Keleher, Jones Aderhold of Nashville, Tennessee and Alex and Dana Aderhold of Buford, Ga, and twelve precious grand nieces and nephews.
Hill will fondly be remembered for his love of the outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, boat, fly, ride motorcycles, and collect guns. Growing up in Atlanta, he graduated from North Fulton High School where he played football and was All State. He also sailed competitively with his father at Atlanta Yacht Club. He graduated from Auburn University. His degree was a BA and major in Economics. He was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He later joined the United States Army Reserves. After graduation, he and Edna lived in Birmingham, Alabama where he built his business as a manufacturers' representative for bedding to high end retail department stores.
There will be a memorial service Friday, Oct. 2nd at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church of Canton, 630 Lower Scott Mill Rd. Canton, Ga 30115. Rev Jim McRae will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Diabetes Assoc. or the American Kidney Foundations in Hill's honor would be appreciated.
