Hubert Truman Wallace, age 80 of Holly Springs, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023.

He was born on August 26, 1942, in Lumpkin County, Georgia. Truman was preceded in death by his father, Frank Wallace; his mother, Monnie Rider Wallace; and his grandson, Jose Antonio Valle. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Jo Ann Dunn Wallace; his children Penny (Antonio) Valle, Scott (Valerie) Wallace, and his grandchildren Anthony (Tracy) Valle, Marc (Brooke) Valle, Kayla (Jon) Wallace, and Kyleigh Wallace; as well as many other close relatives and in-laws.

Truman graduated from Cherokee High School in 1960. He played baseball and was a two-time state championship pitcher and catcher. After graduation, he went to work and married his high school sweetheart, Jo Ann. They made a beautiful life and family together.

Truman also coached his son, nephews, grandsons, and may other baseball players who were blessed to call him coach. He always supported his children and grandchildren in every sport and activity they were involved. He loved his family with all of his heart and might. He loved people, and everyone loved him.
Truman retired from Lockheed Martin in May 2012, after 48 years of dedicated service. He worked in a variety of positions including precision machinist and wing quality control inspector. He made many life-long friends while working at Lockheed.

Truman confessed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Upon his physical death, he had his final awakening with God….. forever and ever. Today, he is in glory! Amen!
Services are at Darby Funeral Home in Canton, Georgia. Visitation is on Friday, May 12th from 3:00-8:00 PM, and Saturday, May 13th from 3:00-4:00 PM.
Funeral service is at Darby Chapel on Saturday, May 13th at 4:00 PM. Graveside prayer and internment are immediately following the service is at the First Baptist Church of Holly Springs.
