Mr. Hugh Delaney Beattie, age 79, passed away in his home on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. He was born on June 2, 1938 in Harvey, Illinois. He is survived by his five children, Jeffrey Beattie, Elizabeth Padilla, Melissa Bankes, Cathy Wolf and Todd Beattie. He is also survived by his brother, William Beattie. Hugh moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 2006 after the passing of his wife of 37 years, Deanna and it brings great comfort to his to know that they are again united.

Hugh will be remembered for his strong work ethic, having retired after 38 years at Acme Steel. He will be remembered for so much more, and by so many, as someone who had a big heart and who could make anyone laugh and enjoy just being around him.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Darby Funeral Home at 480 East Main Street, Canton, GA 30014 from 4pm to 8pm
