Jackie W. Hill's Obituary
On Tuesday, December 27, 2016, Jackie completed her Faith Journey on this earth. She is now seated at the Father's Great Banquet Table.
Jackie was born November 2, 1943 and was preceded in death by her parents, Reba and Eugene Jackson Daniel. She was a native of Athens, Georgia where she graduated from Athens High School in 1961. Throughout Jackie's life, she has been highly involved in the life of church demonstrating a true passion for ministry and she revealed this passion through the sharing of God's Grace, and love for Jesus in many ministries and hearts. Along with igniting the Passion for Christ in others, Jackie walked hand in hand with her husband, Dr. C.R. Hill, Jr. for 54 years. She proved to be an unmistakable source of inspiration and perspective covering eleven churches as they served together during 48 years of ministry through the United Methodist Church in the North Georgia Conference.
Along with leaving her husband, C.R. behind to share her love of God and the Light of Christ, she also leaves her Daughter, April Hill-Hawkins and Son-in-law Jim of Owensboro, KY; her son, Pastor Max Hill and Daughter-in-law Chris of McDonough, GA; grandson, Drew Hawkins and his wife, Megan of Atlanta, GA; and Grandsons, Nathan and David Hill of McDonough, GA. In October of this year she celebrated the birth of her Great Granddaughter Campbell Jewel Hawkins. Jackie also leaves behind her brother, Eugene Jackson Daniel, Jr. and his wife, Linda of Athens, GA, along with multiple Nieces and Nephews.
The family will receive guests at Darby Funeral Home, 480 E. Main St., Canton, GA 30114 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wed., December 28, 2016. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thurs., December 29, 2016 at Canton First United Methodist Church, 930 Lower Scott Mill Road, Canton, GA 30115.
Interment will be private at the National Cemetery on Friday. The Family asks in lieu of flowers to make contributions to Reinhardt University's Music Department in loving memory of Jackie Hill.
