James Keith Howard, age 91 of Canton, passed away peacefully January 16, 2013 at his home at Cameron Hall in Canton, GA. Mr. Howard was born September 11, 1921 in Dawsonville, GA, to the late William Burt Howard and Julie Irene Looper.
A member of Mt. Zion Baptist church. Mr. Howard was a proud United States Navy retiree and a member of the Hickory Flat Masonic Lodge. He was a native of Dawson county Georgia, but moved to Cherokee county Georgia after WWII. Keith was known for being a wonderful gardener, Christian and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Keith or Gangan, as he was known by many family members will be forever loved and missed.
Mr. Howard is survived by his wife Ruth Lucille Gramling of Canton, GA, Son & daughter-in-law Ron and Pam Howard of Brasstown, NC, daughter & son-in-law Wanda and Jim Dugger of Kingston, GA., brother William " Bud" Howard of Canton, GA , 3 Grandchildren, Becky, Lindy and Logan and 1 great grandson, Cotton.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Darby Funeral Home from 3PM-8PM. The Funeral will be Friday, January 18 in the Chapel of Darby Funeral Home at 2PM with Rev. Doug Mulkey, Rev. Kenny Morris, and Rev Charles Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia Memorial Park. The caring staff of Darby Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
