Deacon James Edward Hunter, age 70 of Canton, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2015. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 in Rome, GA at Wright Funeral Home from 5PM-7PM. Visitation will take place on Friday, May 1, 2015 from 6-8 PM at Darby Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Canton at 2 PM. Reverend Robert D. Holmes and Rev. Fred Forsh will be officiating. Interment will follow in Cherokee Memorial Park. Deacon Hunter is survived by his wife Phyllis Hunter of Canton; daughter Tannish & Andrew Welch of Woodstock, Ga; son Terrell & Stephanie Barron of Kennesaw, Ga; son Terek & Adrienne Hunter of Mableton, Ga; and five grandchildren: Tiana, Tariah, and Taya Welch, Tyson Barron, and Isra James Hunter. Deacon Hunter is preceded in death by his twin sister Jean Evelyn Hunter, and mother Mamie Turner. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the James Hunter Educational Scholarship Fund, P.O.
