Mr. James "Jake" McGarity, Sr., age 89, of Canton, died on Wednesday, December 30, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Friday at the Darby Huey Funeral Home in Canton, GA with Rev. Claude Smithmier and Rev. Jimmy Budd officiating. Interment in Union Hill United Methodist Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Thursday, December 31, 2009 from 3P.M. – 7 P.M. and Friday from 12 P.M. – 2 P.M. Survivors are son and daughter-in-law, James & Judy McGarity of Canton; Sisters-in-law, Jean McGarity, Alpharetta; Frances Holbert, Woodstock; Edith Sims, Woodstock; 2 great-greatchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and 4 step great-grandchildren.
