James Alvy McGarity Jr., age 72 of Canton, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at his residence. Mr. McGarity was a veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of Hickory Flat United Methodist Church, a member of American Legion POST 45, and Fellowship Sunday School Class for 50 years.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 2nd at Darby Funeral Home from 5:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. and Friday, May 3rd from 1:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 3rd at 4:00p.m. in the chapel of Darby Funeral Home with Dr. Warren Lathem officiating. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 14th at 1:30p.m. at Georgia National Cemetery. He is survived by:
