James Danny Yancey, Jr., age 64, of Waleska, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, June 8, 2026.

Born on June 14, 1961, in Atlanta, Georgia, James was the son of the late James Danny Yancey, Sr. and Mary Ann Atchley. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and served his country with honor and dedication.

James was a devoted father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He cherished the time spent with his family and found great joy in watching his children and grandchildren grow. His love, guidance, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his father, James was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Brittaney Yancey.

He is survived by his children, Neil (Rosemarie) Yancey, Taylor Yancey, and Ali Carter; his cherished grandchildren, Elizabeth Yancey, Sofia Seak, Aria Smart, Rylah Yancey, and Rhiannon Yancey; his mother, Mary Ann (Cecil) Atchley; his step-father, Sandy (Ruby) Powell; his sister, Leisha (Keith) Hawkins; his brother, Bobby (Kim) Powell; as well as numerous extended family members and friends who will forever treasure his memory.

James will be laid to rest at Georgia National Cemetery, where a graveside service with military honors will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026, at 11:30 a.m.

Though he is no longer with us, James's legacy of love, service, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
