Jean Smith Holcombe, age 90, of  Canton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 13, 2026, at Harris Senior Living in Roswell, Georgia.

Born on April 17, 1936, in Canton, Georgia, Jean was the daughter of the late Thomas Elmer Smith and Mary Allene Smith. She lived a life marked by quiet strength, unwavering love for her family, and a kind, gentle spirit that touched all who knew her. Jean's greatest joy was found in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and cherished memories that will be treasured for generations.

She is lovingly survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Stacy Holcombe of Broomfield, Colorado; her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Jimmy Dove of Gainesville, Georgia; her beloved grandchildren, Noah (Claire) Holcombe, Jacob Holcombe, Connor Dove, and Ashley Dove; her precious great-granddaughter, Lily Holcombe; and her sisters, Margaret Lathem and Sandy Lawson. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

Funeral services in honor and celebration of Jean's life will be held in the Chapel of Darby Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:30 a.m. until the funeral hour. Rev. Cliff Pace will officiate. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made in Jean's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
