Nova Jean Stanley Tidwell passed away August 10, 2018 with her two daughters by her side.
Jean was born in Albertville, Alabama on January 7, 1932 and was the eldest of three children.
She and her family moved to Atlanta Georgia in the 50s. She began working for Delta Airlines in January of 1958, in their interline accounting department and retired in 1994. She lived most of her life south of Atlanta to remain close to her Delta friends. Due to health reasons she moved to Canton about 6 years ago to be close to her daughter Donna. She is a member of Canton First United Methodist Church.
Jean has travelled all over the world and loved nothing more than talking with her grandchildren, Katie and James about their adventures as they follow in her footsteps, traveling the globe.
She is survived by her sister Carol Foley, of Ocean Isle, North Carolina, daughters, Donna Tidwell Ziegelbauer and her husband, Jim of Ball Ground, Georgia; Chella Owen and her husband Emmett of Heflin, Alabama. Grandchildren Katherine A. Ziegelbauer; James R. Ziegelbauer, III; Ashley Baker Erb and her husband Scott Erb and their children Grayson, Noah and Lindy Erb; her nephew John Foley and wife Joanne of Sarasota, Florida and niece Susan Foley Racher of Raleigh, N.C.
Jean was very brave and fought c.difficile on and off for over eighteen months, but was unable to overcome the disease.
Jean will be missed by her friends at Canton First United Methodist Church; her ladies card group and her neighbors at The Villas of Riverstone, and also her friends at her previous church Hopewell Methodist Church in Fairburn, Georgia.
Jean was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother and her passing will leave a big hole in their hearts.
A memorial for Jean is September 15, 2018 at 2:00 at Canton First United Methodist Church's Chapel.
