Jessie F. Mechwart, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away in the presence of loved ones on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 after battling a long illness.

She was born on January 5, 1939 to parents Joe Brown & Daphne Fendley in Ellijay, Georgia. After attending high school at Gilmer High, Jessie went on to attend Asbury University in Kentucky. She later moved to West Palm Beach, Florida where she met her husband George Roy Mechwart and completed cosmetology school. Jessie and Roy were married March 8, 1961 and relocated to Long, Island, New York where they had two children, Cathy and Kevin. In 1976 the family moved back to Jessie's home state of Georgia, where they put down roots in Marietta. Jessie devoted 20 years to working as an branch office administrator for Edward Jones where she was described as attentive, kind, and dependable.

Jessie will be remembered by all that loved her as a smart, funny, and feisty character who could never be replaced. Her memory lives on in her two children Cathleen Pinkston (James Pinkston) Woodstock,GA and Kevin Mechwart (Kimberly Mechwart) Gainesville, GA , her grandchildren Ashley Piroteala, Zachary Rich, Brittain Pinkston, and Hayden Mechwart, her great-grandchildren Adrian Piroteala and soon to be born Benjamin Rich, and countless other loving family and friends
