Jimmy Donald Owen, age 77 of Canton, passed away on Monday, February 19th at Northside Hospital Cherokee. The family will receive friends at Darby Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 20th from 10:00a.m. to 2:00p.m. and 6:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. and Wednesday, February 21st from 10:00a.m. to 2:00p.m. The funeral will take place on Wednesday, February 21st at 2:00p.m. from the chapel of Darby Funeral Home with Rev. Pete Martin and Rev. Charles Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Hickory Flat Cemetery. Mr. Owen was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church, a life-long resident of the Hickory Flat Community, founding member of the Hickory Flat Volunteer Fire Department, retired from Georgia D.O.T. after thirty years of service, and a member of the Breakfast Club at Family Traditions Restaurant.
